Gaza's beaches are a favourite
picnic spot

Israeli artillery shells have struck on Friday a group of Palestinian civilians at a beach in northern Gaza, killing 7 people, including 3 children, and wounding 36 others...
The dead and the wounded Palestinians were having a picnic on the beach as it was the weekly holiday... Palestinian medical sources said 5 of those killed at the beach were members of the same family from Gaza. Children aged one, 3 and 10 died alongside their parents...

Also on Friday, Aljazeera's correspondent said, an Israeli missile attack on Salaheddin Street in the centre of Gaza left several Palestinians injured, after a series of Israeli strikes and shellings killed 9 people...
The shells that hit Beit Lahia beach were the latest of more than 6,000 fired into the Gaza Strip by Israel over the past two months...

Ghazi Hamad, a government spokesman, said: "Israel is responsible for the consequences of this crime and the response from the resistance."
